We recently received this information from out source. We won’t say how, but our source does have access to such information about the boys. Please don’t ask us questions about our source. They are the biggest reason we are able to provide you with these updates, and if they get in any kind of trouble, it could be dangerous, not only for our source, but for this site as well.
We understand that it’s hard to believe us, but please just know that we wouldn’t want to lie to you or make up stories. The writers went through great consideration on whether we wanted to release this or not.
The first thing our source told us is that Nichkhun wants to apologize to Jay. He’s sorry that he wasn’t able to protect him. During the conference, he had no choice but to follow orders and go along with JYPE. In order to survive under the contract with JYPE and with the other 2PM members, he has to follow along with whatever they do, even if that means going against Jay. He’s helpless – a foreigner in a different country with a different culture. He’s alone now.
Before, when Jay was around, Nichkhun relied on Jay a lot. The two were very close because they shared the same title of “foreigner.” They both struggled with the Korean language and were able to speak freely with each other in English. They were each an outlet to the other for speaking freely about their lives.
During Jay’s life in Korea, he was never treated well by the other members. To the other boys, he wasn’t an older brother or a leader, but a slave to be picked on and bullied. If Jay was treated so badly, Nichkhun probably wasn’t spared either. He’s happiest whenever he’s able to go home to Thailand because he’s able to forget the bad situation in Korea. He’s not even able to tell his mother or the rest of his family about what goes on because he doesn’t want them to worry. No one knows what goes on in their dorm when they’re away from all the cameras. No one knows how much they both suffered.
During his last trip to Thailand, Nichkhun was asked who he was jealous of. He said Jay.
Nichkhun knows that Jay’s a good hyung. He misses him from the bottom of his heart.

On another note, our source had another update for our readers.
We are all aware of the “brotherhood” we saw during shows like Idol Army and Wild Bunny. We know that everyone loves the relationship the boys had one another. It’s hard, but we have to realize that it wasn’t real. If you read from the screenshot of what one of the writers from Wild Bunny wrote on their cyworld, you can notice that Jay had to liven the atmosphere when the other members were tired or down. Just like in this case, the actions and words from the members were an act to keep the show interesting.
Translation:

S: (On our show) You act silly sometimes…?
J: Mmm, that’s just…
if the members are feeling too down, I do those things to make the atmosphere (of filming) better.
A quite mature answer not expected from his usual fun self…
Like in that answer, he knew how to be calm while the atmosphere was too much.
Although it seems like he freely does what he wants to do, this 23-year-old young man specifically took into account the actions and words of everyone and responded accordingly with those people in mind.

Rumors about Jay's "scandal"

Ever since JYPE mentioned that Jay confessed a mistake that he made during the A&A promotion time period, rumors have been flying left and right. We’ve heard many absurd ones such as Jay raping a minor, having a drug problem, or getting Sunmi pregnant. You don’t have to be a Jay-bias fan to know that he is definitely not that type of person. He was extremely hard-working and not even the sasaeng fans could find anything bad about him.
It seems like the most prominent rumor right now is that Jay has a sex tape.�Even Jay’s mother knows about this rumor. When a fan representative brought presents to Jay’s church, she met Jay’s mother. The topic of Jay’s “scandal” came up in their conversation and she angrily said “There’s no such thing as a sex tape of my son.” Jay’s pastor has also spoken out about someone by his side that is wrongly accused. People are speculating that he is referring to none other than Jay’s current situation.
We’ve been warned that JYPE is going to release news of Jay’s scandal soon (it’s most likely going to be something like a sex tape), but to not believe any of it and trust Jay. 150%.

SM Entertainment stops doing business with Mnet

SM Entertainment has announced that they will stop providing music to Mnet due to the media giant’s breach of contract.

Official statement on SME’s website stated,

“SME has been discussing Mnet Media in regards to the renewal of a contract on music distribution as the contract term was about to end. However, we found out that Mnet Media had breached the contract by providing content created by SME on their websites without our consent over a lengthy period of time. This is a clear breach of contract which happened without any notification or explanation to SME.
SME has been providing content to Mnet Media, but due to such circumstances, we believe that it is difficult to continue business relationship when trust is lost, so we have decided not to renew our contract.”

Mnet.com noted on their website about the matter and said,

“We are trying our best for music distribution to continue through constant discussion.”

As of March 2nd, all SM-related material has been removed from Mnet’s database.

Mnet and SME have not been on good terms lately, and this will no doubt worsen their relationship. Stay tuned to allkpop as the case develops.

One Way covers Taeyang’s Only Look at Me

New Hip Hop / R&B group One Way consisting of members Chance, Peter, and Young Sky are making quite an impression.

We first introduced you to them with the sounds of U-Drag and One Way and they recently released the music video for their new single Magic. Now they’re treating fans with a cover of Big Bang Taeyang’s hit single Only Look at Me.

A lot of people have been giving feedback that the group reminds them of Taeyang so they decided to do the cover. They also gave props to 1TYM leader Teddy, who produces most of the YG Entertainment hits.

 One Way’s new mini album is scheduled to be released online and in stores on March 4, 2010. They’re also scheduled to make their debut performance on March 6th’s MBC Music Core,

Removal of Jaebum Backfires, News from the Korea Times newspaper

 Former 2PM leader Park Jaebum was branded as a "sinner" and kicked out of the popular idol group by its agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE).

However, the controversial removal of Jaebum is backfiring on 2PM and JYPE's president Park Jin-young as fans are turning their back on them.

Yet, the group swept music charts even after the Korean-American singer left 2PM in September amid disputes about negative comments he made about Korea on social networking site MySpace between 2005 and 2007.

But the group faces the biggest crisis ever since its debut, with some fans threatening to boycott 2PM minus Jaebum.

For an explanation for the expulsion of the young singer, JYPE said Jaebum did "something seriously wrong that is more serious than his MySpace controversy."

The agency said it and the six members came to an agreement that it was no longer possible for Jaebum to continue activities with 2PM. But they are refusing to disclose what kinds of transgressions he committed.

Jaebum's fans are up in arms over why he had to carry the scarlet letter. They are venting their anger against the remaining members for what they call the betrayal of Jaebum.

In a meeting with fans last week, the group said they had no other choice but to agree with the decision to permanently kick Jaebum out due to his "serious wrongdoing."

As his fans are protesting against 2PM and its agency, his mother has asked them to refrain from taking any action against them in a letter sent to the Jaebum fan club.

Underground, the association of Jaebum fan clubs, made the letter public on its Web site, Tuesday.

"Despite all kinds of rumors that could cause a person to despair, Jaebum has shown his normal self and allowed us to not despair but have hope," his mother said. "I feel a bit relieved as it's all over now, even though it was not a favorable end for him."

She expressed wishes that her son won't be the subject of issues in the future.

In turn, the fan site called for its members to respect her request.

"Jaebum and his family went through a difficult time dealing with various rumors over the last six months. They no longer want him to be an issue now," the fan club said in a statement. "Underground has decided to respect their wishes. Supporting what he and his family want is part of a fan's last act of love toward Jaebum."

But disputes are unlikely to subside. Some fans are turning against 2PM and posting items against them and their personal information on various Web sites and online cafes.

On top of shutting down online fan cafes voluntarily, some fans are posting video clips showing the burning of CDs and photos of 2PM members.

In reaction, JYPE filed a complaint against netizens with the police.

"Some netizens are spreading the six members' residential ID numbers and personal information illegally. To protect their privacy, we have referred the case to the police," it said in a statement.

The conflict between fans and the agency is likely to continue as long as Jaebum's wrongdoing remains a secret. They said the cloud hanging over 2PM will be cleared only when JYPE comes clean on why it kicked Jaebum out of the group.

이랬더니 웃어주던 사람이었음.

그리고 그후 엠비씨에서 만났을때

나 다른 댄서 언니랑 싸울뻔할때 막 아는 척 해줘서

험악한 분위기에서 구해준게 우리 재범군임.

The reason I liked 2PM was because of the Jaebum who always used to greet so nicely ^^

This was what kind of situation it was.

I didn't take much notice of them during 10 out of 10, but it was during the first time they came out with Again and Again.

Knowing only Nichkhun through variety shows, I knew that there was a group out there called 2PM,

But there were a lot of times when we got put in the waiting room next to '2PM'.

Anyway, I didn't know all the names of all 7 members, cause I kept getting muddled up with a few of them.. (Junho.Junsu.Chansung)
The reason I got to take interest in the other members was because,
Whenever 2PM left the waiting room, there was always someone who'd stop by and greet me.
He greeted so so so well, and I asked an unnie that a worked with,
"Unnie, I think 2PM greets really kindly ^^"
That unnie told me that last time those guys greeted by asking if the stylists were even people,

And got told off big time by their manager haha
But there was one person who didn't get told off. Our Jaebum ^^

Also one of our dancer unnies liked Jaebum so much that she wanted to take a picture with him,

And while the manager left for a while, she asked him if they could take a picture together, and he said

"Because of our company's policy, we're not actually meant to take photos (but since the manager is not here) let's quickly take one"

That's what he said.

I thought Jaebum would be in an awkward situation because of this, so I said,

"Unnie! Unnie what are you doing… I'm sorry.. I'll take good control of this unnie"

But he just laughed it off.

After that, when we saw each other at MBC (Music Core)

I was about to have a huge fight with another dancer unnie, he came in and talked to me as if he knew me really well.

Our Jaebum saved me from a really serious situation.

I believe in Jaebum..

Cause that's the cultural differences. So but when.. when this thing happened, he didn't talk to you and you, Khun, about it. And if you knew, you should've known about like.. that comment.. wasn't something so bad. So why did Jay feel the need to leave?

Taec: I mean ... the point when ah-all the Koreans found out like what he wrote on Myspace... no one ...cared. Everyone was like "Oh. Just go and kill yourself."

Taec: It wasn't.. it wasn't like "Oh. He must've done something. You know.. He must have .. you know.. some kind of reason to write that." It wasn't... you know.. anything. No one cared about him. Not even one single reply.. wrote "We still love you Jay." No one wrote that. What are.. what are we supposed to feel? I mean Jay probably felt the pressure more than uh.. anyone could feel.

2OD Rep: So you couldn't persuade him to stay? :(

Khun: Well, we felt that if he would've stayed, he might've gotten hurt by.. by the people that are like around him. Cause people really, you know, people hated him. So I.. We didn't want him to go, of course. But we felt that it was the best way to save him and save everyone from getting hurt.

Taec: Yeah. Think about it. I mean... [clears throat] Luckily, the fact that he left, it made a lot of.. you know.. people saying "Oh. We were kind of like.. you know.. witch.. witch-hunting" and whatnot. But the fact that it wasn't like that. So by leaving, it was.. I think it was the best thing that he could've done for us and for himself.

2OD Rep: And when he left, did you kind of think that maybe he might come back later? After this plays over?

Taec: Of course. From the day that he left, we knew that he was gonna come back. We had.. we had that belief.

 2OD Rep: So um none of you talked about like the current issues. I was wondering about the future plan. The album was to be released in April. Is that still coming... It's still.. Is it still gonna be released in April?

Taec: I mean.. We are preparing for it but I don't think... I can tell it exactly (2OD Rep: Oh)...until the next album.

2OD Rep: Then if this album is released, like.. how are.. how are you guys gonna.. um.. comeback? Like just.. You know when that thing happened with the Heartbeat. You just focused on singing the song on stage. Not like entertainment shows.

Taec: Yes.

2OD Rep: So with this album, are you going to do the same way? Like not going on shows and such?

Taec: Um.. The reason why we didn't come out on entertainment TV shows was because... we were kind of showing that we're mis-missing out on one piece. And... We had the plan to bring Jay back and that's why we were able to tell the television networks that we will be able to do entertainment shows again. And we were all contracted and we started coming out.. I mean.. It's already... like.. Signing's been done. So we have to go on the TV.. net entertainment TV shows where we found out that Jay's not coming back. I mean we can't just tell the television network "Oh we don't want to do it anymore. He's not coming back." It's not as simple as that.

2OD Rep: Then do you know about Jay's future plan at all?

Khun: Yeah I talked to him but... I talked to him... to.. to him about that on the phone. And he said that um.. he wants to concentrate on .. uh preparing with his friends, AOM, and possibly he might go on um.. [holds back laugh] America.. America's Best Dance Crew just for trying. And I told him to go to school, actually.

 2OD Rep: Um.. I'll just ask in English. Um, so the last concert that Jay was in was Dream Concert, right? Um.. and there's a lot of rumours claiming that the members signaled a 7.. you know.. throughout the performance. And I was just wondering if that's coincidence or you know..?

Taec: Um. First of all, the.. Junho's.. like.. showing of stuff like number 7.. (2OD Rep: Yeah) that is just another rumour that you guys all created. And he was just holding the mic with three fingers. And he had to say "shipjeom manjeome shipjeom" but he's holding hand mics so we can't go like.. [gesture] so that's another rumour that.. you know.. that was created and what other rumours are there? I mean.. a lot of stuff that leads to Jay coming back we ... pointed it out.. literally, in our album. But not like.. on the stage we yelled out 7. [Me and Wooyoung (..?)] doing Inkigayo [one (..?)] pointing out like number 7. There.. there was not... [background laughter] well, we looked at each other and going like "Okay. [Put (..?)] 7 on." When you’re feeling falsely accused, let’s look at God’s bigger picture.

If you watch the movie about Joseph’s life story, there is a scene where Potiphar’s tries to seduce Joseph. Potiphar’s wife says to Joseph, “Joseph, spend the night with me,” to which Joseph replies, “I don’t like middle-aged women who are old and ugly like you.” When Potiphar’s wife grabs Joseph’s clothing, he leaves his clothing behind and runs away. She becomes extremely mad and her goodwill towards him turns into rage. She shouts in a loud voice that this slave tried to dishonor me. The scene changes and it shows Potiphar holding a trial in front of the whole household. Potiphar’s wife shouts that Joseph must die. Joseph insists that he is innocent. However, in the end, Potiphar decides to put Joseph in prison. The scene changes again and shows Potiphar’s bedroom. It shows Potiphar’s wife turning on her husband in a fit of rage, “Why did you not kill the one that tried to disgrace me? Don’t you think that just sending him to prison is not enough?”

Potiphar says this, “I believe Joseph. I know that he is not that type of person. You were the one that intentionally tried to seduce him, right?” In this scene, as he says this, he hits his wife. I could not continue watching because I felt that this [movie] did nothing for my devotion. In the Bible, there are those who are falsely accused. The first is Jesus, and the second is Joseph. Joseph was sold as a slave to Egypt because of his brothers. Even in Egypt, where he was serving his owner, Potiphar, he was put in prision because he refused the seduction of Potiphar’s wife. Potiphar knew that his wife was not living a virtuous life. At the same time, he also knew of Joseph’s loyalty and religious belief when he put Joseph in command of the whole household. If he really thought that Joseph was guilty, he would not have simply put Joseph in prison. He would have killed him. At the time, the owner had the power to decide whether a slave should live or die.

Joseph was the sacrificial lamb for Potiphar’s honor. Potiphar sent Joseph to prision knowing he was innocent to protect his and his wife’s honor. There was a rumor that that Caesar’s wife also had an affair with another man. This turned out to be false. However, Caesar still cast out his wife. The reason? It is because Caesar believed that “there should not be any rumors about the wife of Caesar”. This is because of the characteristic of the men who cared more about their honor than the truth. That is why Joseph was falsely accused and sacrificed to save Potiphar’s honor. Joseph did not fight with people to try and convince them that he was innocent. He only cried to God about his false accusations. This is also important to us as believers. Joseph was put in prison under false accusations, but it turns out that prison was a shortcut to meet the king.

Right now, there is someone who is by my side that is also suffering from unspeakable false accusations. He is suffering from all sorts of rumors and gossipers. To save their own honor, they are making a young man and his parents suffer. It may look bad now, and even though you feel falsely accused, if you just trust and follow the way that God is leading you, it will turn out to be the fastest shortcut. When you feel falsely accused, you need to place your complete trust in God, who is creating the bigger picture. This is because God’s way of thinking is different from the way humans think. You could resolve it by retaliating like regular people. You could also resolve it by explaining. However, none of these solutions can completely resolve false accusations. Nevertheless, later on, when you look back at the way God has led you, it will have been the shortcut not to false accusations, but the shortcut to receiving blessings.

Regarding JYPE’s fan conference about 2PM and Jaebeom’s termination, we at allkpop previously reported what was said during the conference by translating Oneday Room (a Korean fan community)’s summary of the event. However, it appears that this summary neglected some important points, so we decided to listen to the entire four-hour conference ourselves, transcribe then translate it into English with absolutely everything included.

Because our transcript is extremely long, we’ve divided it into segments; here is part one, which covers the first 58 minutes.

Host: Everyone’s faces or identity will not be filmed. It will be filmed from where 2PM members will be sitting, and voices will obviously get recorded, but nobody will be filmed. The conference will start in 3-4 minutes when the members enter.
Fan: I have a question. Is JYPE going to distribute filmed material for media to use?
Host: As you know, this event is not open to media…
Fan: (interrupts) What I want to ask is, since this event is not open to media, is the video filmed by JYPE going to be distributed to media for use and if JYPE’s video is going to be distributed then…
Host: (interrupts) You’re talking about editing and…
Fan: (finishes off what she was saying) …distributed like that.
Host: I will let you know after clarifying this with others. Please wait.
(Sound of fans sneering)
Fan: Would you not film this if we refused filming?
Host: To answer the first question, you were talking about us editing this or distributing it to media; we’re not filming this to give it to the media.

Fan: Can you take responsibility to what you just said?
Fan: Are you sending this to Jaebeom?
Fan: I heard you say you’re filming this to prevent accidents? What accidents are you talking about?
Host: All questions right now are about JYPE filming this event so if you give me bit of time then I will prepare answers for your questions. Please wait.
Fan: So you’re hosting this event without even knowing anything about filming?
Multiple fans: What is the point of filming?
Host: (tries to calm fans down) Ok. The filming was to take place for next two or three or four hours depending on how things go (sound of fans sneering); the video was for both parties to use as a reference, not for us to distribute to media, or to edit and make it say what we want, but there seems to be confusion about the matter so we will decide to not film the event as we were originally planning to.
Multiple Fans: Ok.
Host: To enforce this, please wrap up your cameras. Since guests [conference attendees / Hottests] are concerned we will start without it.

Fan: (interrupts) What we want to ask is if the company is going to film this, we want the right to freely film this event as well.

Host: For us to film the event for reference, then we need everyone to say that we can, but guests seem to have different ideas here today, saying if the company was to film then fans want to film as well. Host: Our guests have come to conference today, and we need some basic rules in order to host this, and to say this again we have 80-90 people here and every one of your opinions matter to us, but if we somewhat reach an agreement then that will be the path we take in terms of hosting. Filming on our side, which was your concern, will not be done and we will only use communication for hosting without any filming done by both parties.

Host: I apologize but hosting is a bit tough and it is important to host communication between our fans, 2PM members and those that represent the company. So I know a couple guests have brought cameras, but due to multiple concerns, when we are hosting something within the company, such as the Wonder Girls conference we just had where we had fans send representatives we…

Host: Again, there will not be any filming.

Host: Many are here but I will consider that all of you are agreed on this and will continue on.

Fan: Please clearly tell us in detail how you picked fans who are here today.
Host: It was notified but since 2PM debuted there were many communities. In our standards we picked communities who could be said to represent the fandom, from the fans’ perspective, and picked from those. We did not give a quota per community or hand-pick communities. We took recommendations from those that can be said to represent the community and brought about one hundred, and I believe about 90 are here today. We did not hand pick people or community. So in order to move on…
Fan: (interrupts, something about 12 communities)
(Sound of fans talking)
Fan: We want to know more about this “representation”.
Fan: Let me tell you something I don’t know. First you said you notified about picking one hundred, but you didn’t. Also, one community was told to submit list of people they wanted to bring to JYPE but they didn’t, but they ended up getting in anyways and was told to just bring officers. How do you explain that?

Fan: (interrupts) You need to reveal the names of communities that are present.

Host: Due to unified concerns of our guests we will talk about the 12 communities then start the conference right after that.

Host: We are not thinking of limiting this to an hour or two. Since we have many guests here we’re taking questions freely but try to keep them from being repetitive. New Q: I want the six members to talk about their honest feelings. I want to know if you all consider Jaebeom to be unfit for leader or member of group 2PM. An official statement says that Jaebeom was considered unfit to be the leader due to personal wrongdoing and you all agreed upon his termination because he needs to be morally responsible for his actions. Members agreed on that matter on January 6th. But after that, a member called Jaebeom a good brother and said he missed him on February 14th. Also, someone said Jaebeom was a jewel on a TV show, not to mention the “us seven” remarks. All those things were said after you all decided that Jaebeom was unfit. Then can we consider these statements to be saying that you are not concerned about Jaebeom’s morality and are only concerned about his abilities? Also, such comments about Jaebeom after a decision has been made appear to be telling lies to and deceiving fans. Then aren’t moral levels of the six members questionable also? I will ask again. When reflecting on moral levels of each member, do you really think Jaebeom is unfit to be a member of 2PM?
Taecyeon: Yes.

Q: All members must answer.
Junsu: Yes. I think he is unfit.

Q: Let me summarize the question for you, since you don’t seem to understand such difficult words. You all agreed on Jaebeom quitting and being terminated from 2PM on January 6th. But after that, you continued to deceive fans by commenting on him. What was the reason behind that? Aren’t you just using fans to make money, and if so, do you all really have rights to ask for love from the fans, and if so, then don’t you ever question your own morality? No yes or no, explain your thoughts.
Taecyeon: Not deceiving but more of not being able to make a decision ourselves. We made an agreement but Jaebeom was still our member and we still think of him as a good friend.
(Sound of fans sneering)
Q: (interrupting a member trying to speak) He is unfit but he is a good friend? Are you all saying that Jaebeom has moral problems but since he can rap and sing and do something he is good in terms of his abilities?
Taecyeon: I didn’t say he is a good friend in terms of his abilities, we really think Jaebeom is a good friend but since he did something wrong we cannot accept him.
(A fan tries to ask a question but host interrupts her)
Q: I want answers from all members. Taecyeon seems to be speaking for the team…
(The fan tries to ask a question again but the host keeps interrupting her)
Junsu: I will answer. Our fans must be wondering what Jaebeom did to cause such problems…
Q: (interrupts) No. I don’t want to know about his personal life, I want to talk about marketing that uses him.
Junsu: We were with Jaebeom during Again and Again and I Hate You, and even before that. So we said we thank Jaebeom when we got awards but really, when we heard of the news we thought it would be hard for Jaebeom to be 2PM’s leader anymore so that is why we made a decision.
Fan: Are you joking? Really, do you think you’re telling a joke?
Multiple fans: We want to hear from other members.
Nichkhun: What I said during the fan meeting was because I really missed Jaebeom so I said that but as we said Jaebeom couldn’t come because of what happened.
(Sound of fans sneering)
Q: Got to tell us about him not being able to come.
Nichkhun: (mumbles)
Multiple fans: Speak in English.
Host: This is a tough question and as you know, his Korean isn’t 100% so he could speak in English if you could excuse him since his Korean isn’t 100% and bad choice of vocabulary could end up not well so regarding that we will do what you want. Chansung, please speak.
Chansung: I think, a friend who is really close and is like a family member made a mistake and, I’m just saying for example here, did something bad but I don’t think it is right to talk badly about his morality or anything. I mean, even thieves have really close friends.
(Sound of fans sneering)
Fan: Is Jaebeom a thief?
Chansung: I was saying…
Fan: What a dumbass.
Chansung: So what I think is that you must be asking why did we say those things after what happened to Jaebeom, but we could say those things because he is still a good friend, and… (pause) what we’ve been saying, we could say we’re 7 and we miss him because what happened did not get announced yet and I think we can still say those. Like I miss him, he is a good friend.
(Fans laugh)
Fan: Wow, I’m getting a really good laugh out of this.
Junho: We know of course how hurt you all are. But what’s important is that I don’t think we used Jaebeom for marketing. When we were planning Heartbeat we did it wanting Jaebeom to come back and thinking he is coming back. Before January 6th, no, January 3rd, whatever program we were on or award show we were at we sang thinking about Jaebeom and him only. Really, that is not a lie. We have no reason to intentionally hurt you. I’m sure many of us miss the days when we were 7. We do too, by a lot. For us to come back like this we prepared a lot and Jaebeom practiced a lot in States and while watching videos of him dance we were thinking when he comes back, we’re going to be on the top. That is why we were giving you guys little hints, for example what I wrote in “thanks to” in our album.
Fan: Thanks to is thanks to.
Junho: But after we learned of what happened on January 3rd, even we hated him for a little while. We had made the path for him to come back…
Fan: Who made that path? We f*cking made that path.

Junho: You all made the path. You made that with us. Isn’t that right?

Junho: Anyways, we all made the path. Not just the six of us but with the help from all of you. Thanks to all of you who love Jaebeom. Because we were making that path, we hated him when we heard that story and we were so sorry to you. We felt so sorry for fans who had faith in us. I was going crazy. We were together and couldn’t say anything. When we heard of what happened, all I could do is just think of the path we were making and was literally stunned for a while. If someone learns of what happened or you learn about what happened, you’d feel the same. We cannot talk about what happened because we respect Jaebeom. Those of you that are laughing, I know you think this is absurd. How do you think we felt when we heard the story? We thought you were our strength and Jaebeom’s strength so we valued you so much. I am so sad about what’s going on. You all spent about 2 years with Jaebeom. We spent from 3 to 5 years. That is why we were so sad. You might laugh at us but we are over that level, we are just plain going insane, because we can’t be with Jaebeom. The awards we received, we felt that we needed to really thank Jaebeom and all of you so we think we could mention him, at Seoul music awards that you are all concerned about.
Q: Wooyoung, please speak.
Wooyoung: I’m sorry but may I ask a question to guest who asked a question? Not only to you but everyone who are here today. Do you want us to answer just the questions you have prepared today, or do you want to just hear us talk seriously?
Multiple fans: Both.
Wooyoung: Serious talk should be answers to questions. Honestly, my heart is breaking down… (sighs) we came here today willing to invest the entire day and talk seriously with all of you. Please understand that our answers may get dragged on and we think this conference is valuable in that we can tell you our serious stories. We are really sad and heartbroken about what happened. In my case, I wasn’t good enough to be a member of 2PM, as you all know I lacked acrobatic skills or singing skills and thanks to Junho, Chansung, Taecyeon, Khun, Junsu and our leader Jaebeom I could be in 2PM. I was thankful of and felt sorry to our members each and every day because I was not good enough. We could do this together thanks to our trusty members. Even when we were hurt because of little things we tried to talk those out. Although we didn’t have any fans in the beginning but we tried and one by one we started getting those that would cheer us on. I felt really thankful and realized what it feels like to be proud. Every album we tried out best. Jaebeom can make mistakes but really, we might be able to forgive him since we trust him and you all might forgive him… yes, we forgive him. You heard it, right? We forgive Jaebeom. But we made such decision because… (pause) we are not the only ones in this world. Other countries and other nationalities. Living things. We are not the only ones in this world so we couldn’t just think about ourselves. Because we thought about others we started thinking into the future. Thought about we might feel really hurt now, but will we regret out decision in future? Those were our concerns. This decision left a crack between our fans and us. We do not want that, nor do we want a crack between Jaebeom and us. We prepared with all our heart and because of that the crack feels so wide. I spoke with all my heart but if you still feel the need to point fingers at us, please understand the feelings of us 7 of 2PM, that way we can be over this crack and together again. Those are my thoughts.
Junsu: It is obvious for you all to be angry and hate us. You all loved us so much but those kids made an absurd decision, so the words we say must be hateful and hurting. But as Junho said, think about how we would feel, and we did not give up on 2PM. We came to that decision regarding Jaebeom because we had no choice and it makes us sad. I dare say it is really sad. (raises voice) we made that decision because we had no choice but to. The reason we keep calling him a good friend is because he really is. It is above the level of something social or humane; even we can’t protect him from it. (sigh) Please understand us.
Nichkhun: It breaks my heart.

New Q: Two questions. I would like to ask the members, when was the last time you contacted Jaebeom? What did you talk about? Does he know about this conference? Also, there are many rumours out there right now. This is really a question to the company, but to members, I heard one member was all for letting Jaebeom go and one was against it until the end. I also heard the company abandoned him because 2PM was fine without him, and admins of large fan communities are being bribed by the company. Such unspeakable rumors are out there. Members, are there any rumors you wish to explain? Company, do you plan on doing anything about these rumors/ When rumors spread they become reality and become accepted, so do you plan on doing anything about that? If the members have anything to talk about regarding the rumors, please speak up.
Taecyeon: On contacting Jaebeom, Khun texted him yesterday, to see if anything was up. They talked about the situation andon what happened online when the statement went out. Jaebeom knows of the conference. Regarding the rumours, there are lots of absurd rumors out there. Not even ones like who agreed and who disagreed, there are ones that shocked us and as Wooyoung said, we had no choice but to make such decision and there are many rumors out there but most them are made up. As statement revealed, we were waiting for him to come back starting in October and our album name was changed from “Heartbeat” to “1:59PM” because he was coming back. (sigh) It was all planned like that so abandoning him because the six of us were doing well is pretty absurd. If you have questions regarding other rumours then please ask again.
Host: You asked a question to JYPE too, but we will first let the fans and 2PM members have sufficient time to talk and later talk about questions you have for the company.
New Q: You said Jaebeom knows about the conference. Did he say anything about this?
Nichkhun: Jaebeom said he wanted to shoot some video with you, and said he is really sorry… and that’s it.
New Q: (angry voice) I would like to ask a question that is not on the questionnaire sheet. I believe I am the oldest fan here today. I am a mother with a son who is as old as the members. What I want to know is the rumor that everyone here knows of but cannot talk about. I’m sure all members know of it. Jaebeom is being talked of like a trash. You all know, right? You just can’t say it. He is like a human trash. Apparently what happened will have bigger social impact than the mistranslation that happened last year. It is already on the news. Personal problem with big social impact means termination? Reading the statement by the company, the problem is something everyone can gossip about. The members said we cannot accept him when considering not only us but what is being viewed to the society. We are fans who knew him for 2 years but you knew him for 4, 5 or 3 years and you just let go of his hand. I don’t know how big of a personal issue it is but he is a human trash on the Internet because of it. Members must know; you use the Internet daily. My son goes to the army next month. I am here today because this issue really doesn’t sound like someone else’s. I want to ask this. Jaebeom has to live his entire life with that issue haunting him unless a proper explanation is made. Wooyoung, did you say you didn’t abandon 2PM? You didn’t abandon 2PM, but the fans are about to. When a person’s heart meets with another’s then they can even accept enemies who killed their children. What kind of socially wrong thing did he do? Murder? Drugs? It was a moral slip not a criminal one. Why would he mention it to the company? I don’t know what kind of mistake he made but I don’t think this is right. On the Internet, Jaebeom is international trash. He is below human. That is all.

New Q: Wooyoung mentioned that the decision was made for all 7 members of 2PM. The decision was made to protect Jaebeom but the words “personal life” were mentioned in the statement. That word is spawning many rumours so I want to know what you felt after reading the statement.
Wooyoung: The statement from our company?
Q: I’m not done yet. Also, you said it is a secret that you can take to the grave, but about criminal law…
(The fan mumbles and another fan takes over the questioning)
You said that what happened was a big problem and should not have happened. Criminal law exists to control such problems. If the problem is so large and socially wrong then it is a criminal matter, not social. Talk of morality was not even on the statement. Rumors popped up when the statement said “personal life,” and when few rumours became well-known you said that was not right, but I am really curious. What kind of problem is not criminal and only moral, but is large enough to cause this?
Taecyeon: I don’t believe we mentioned morality.
Wooyoung: Let’s say Jaebeom came back after committing a legal wrong. Would he be able to perform as 2PM? We might be able to forgive him, but the society might not. (fans yell out, he can take punishment) I said it is something that I can’t speak about. (fans yell out, he needs to receive punishment) Punish? (fans yell, yes) Punishment is for a court. We won’t punish him.
(Fans keep pointing things out and Wooyoung mumbles)

Advertising companies feels the effects of boycotts

 재범 탈퇴와 이에 따른 팬들의 거센 항의가 2PM을 모델로 내세운 회사들과 이들 멤버들이 출연하는 프로그램이 심각한 타격을 입을 것으로 예상된다.

2PM 팬클럽 핫티스트는 현재 2PM이 CF모델로 활약하고 있는 8개 제품과 그 계열사의 모든 제품에 대해 불매운동을 벌이겠다는 입장을 밝혔다. 이들은 모델을 교체하거나 박재범을 투입해 재촬영을 하지 않으면 제품 불매 운동을 지속할 것이라 이미 밝혔었다.

이 같은 팬들의 움직임에 해당 회사들은 현재 대책을 마련하기 위해 분주한 것으로 알려졌다. 2PM이 모델로 나온 한 외국계 회사의 경우에는 한국 지사 뿐만 아니라 해외 본사까지도 2PM 팬들이 모델 교체 등을 요구하는 항의를 해 난처한 상황이다.

광 고계 관계자는 "2PM이 모델로 나선 대부분의 CF들이 2PM의 팬들이나 그 또래를 대상으로 하기에, 팬들의 입김을 무시할 수 없는 상황"이라며 "그렇다고 해서 현 시점에서 모델을 교체할 수도 없는 상황이기에 대다수 업체들은 사태만 잠잠해지기만 기다릴 수 밖에 없을 것"이라고 전했다.

이 들이 출연하는 프로그램들 역시 난처한 상황인 것은 마찬가지다. 현재 2PM 팬들은 이들이 고정 출연하고 있는 SBS '일요일이 좋다-패밀리가 떴다2', KBS2TV '승승장구', SBS '인기가요' , 엠넷 '엠카운트다운' 등의 게시판에 멤버들의 하차를 요구하는 글을 올리고 있다.

재범 팬들의 항의가 단기간에 시청률 하락으로 이어지지는 않겠지만, 꾸준한 항의 및 현재와 같이 2PM 팬들로 인한 인신 공격 등이 이어진다면 이미지를 먹고사는 아이돌과 그들을 활용하려는 방송사 측은 장기적으로 피해가 예상된다.

2PM's fanclub Hottest is promoting boycott for the eight products that 2PM is currently working as advertisement models for. Fans have stated that if they do not use a new model or refilm the advertisements including Park Jaebum, the boycotts will continue.

Although the requests of the fans won't bring down the ratings of these shows in a short period of time, if they continue to persist, broadcasting companies have stated that it will be hard for them to use 2PM since idols rely entirely on their image.

I arrived in Korea Friday, February 26 a little after 7am. I arrived at the hotel around 9am. I quickly connected to the internet only to find out that Jay wasn’t coming back. The big news about Jay’s personal mistake during his AAA promotions had been announced while I was still flying to Korea. I was in utter shock. Just so big that even as I write this fan account on Sunday night, it STILL hasn’t hit me yet…. But I realized that I needed to get my butt over to JYPE and see the situation there cuz apparently there had been some problems when this news was first announced. (like the building being trashed)

It took less than 10 minutes to get to the JYPE building from the Coex hotel.

The weather was really nice that day. A little cloudy but still around 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, since there are tall buildings all around, there was very little sunlight there.

I arrived around 2:20pm. It was such a strange feeling to be able to see the building right in front of my eyes. The building I had seen ever since becoming a fan of 2PM and 2AM. There is a Dunkin Donuts that is right across the street from the building. One side of it opens up so people can sit both indoors and outdoors. There were at least 60 fans or so hanging around DD talking and looking at the JYPE building. There were about 10 fans or so posting up notes or just reading the Post-Its and other things stuck on the building. The JYPE building is at a 4-way intersection without any lights or stop signs. There is barely enough room for one car to get through, but somehow cars managed to magically slide past each other. (Kinda like in Harry Potter….lol) When I first got there, there wasn’t much traffic. However, as the day went on, the number of people increased exponentially, as well as the traffic.

As soon as I got there, I took some pictures and video clips of the area and headed over to the building.

However, only after about 5 minutes, I heard a bunch of shouting in front of the Dunkin Donuts. There was a crowd of about 50 girls and so I ran over to see what the commotion was about. The girls were surrounding this one guy with a camera. I don’t remember exactly what they were talking about, but in general, the fans were pissed that the journalist was taking pictures of the building/fans. They did not want the media to take pictures because they have a tendency to twist information. The journalist was arguing back that he had already taken the pictures. The fans kept telling him to leave…. After their small argument, the girls dispersed and I saw the journalist check his camera and say, “I took the picture, let’s go.” Even after he left, there were at least about 10 other people with cameras and camcorders who came and left during the 3 hours that I was there. Whenever the fans saw the reporters/journalists taking pictures (even from afar) they all were saying things like, “Wtf! Why are they filming from over there?” while continuing to yell at them to stop it.

My initial reaction when I got to the building was a shock at just the sheer number of girls there mulling around and the amount of post-its. From writing on the windows to the walls to the cement ground to even Post-Its stuck onto the staffs’ cars, I just did not know where to start reading. Since my main job was to document everything, I started taking pictures like crazy. There were messages of love to Jaebum and the other 6 members, pleas for Jaebum to return, demands for JYPE to hand over Jaebum, and even uses of 2AM’s and 2PM’s title songs- “Park Jaebum, even if I die, I can’t send you away. I am not tired of waiting.” I especially liked the poster that read, “JAY=AND, JYPE=END” and a Post-It that read, “1 person pulled (lead) 6 people. Can’t 6 people pull 1 person?” There were also messages regarding Sunmi from WG, “We’ll wait for you, Sunmi.” There was also a Paris Baguette poster that was covered in writing. Some of the comments were, “[member name] are you the same [name] that we used to know?” “Personal problem? What is it?!” In the front of the building, there was a ball of something wrapped up in foil. It looked like an oversized Hershey kiss. I immediately wondered if it was poo, but didn’t ask anyone about it. It somehow disappeared and later saw it opened in the parking lot and inside of it were like 2 Korean pastries. >.<

I noticed that there was a journalist with a cameraman filming parts of the wall. I thought to myself, “I should ask him if he can include my Post-It note too since I did come all the way from Chicago,” and went over to him and said to him in Korean while pointing to my orange Post-It note, “Can you make sure to film this too? I’m here as a representative of international fans.” He looked at me in surprise and said something along the lines of, “Oh really?!” and I told him, “Yes, I’m from Chicago,” and he immediately asked me if I was willing to do an interview and I asked him where he was from and he said, “tvEnt” and I said okay. I then started preparing what to say in Korean and he told me not to worry and that it was okay to answer in English. When the other fans noticed that I was talking with the reporter, they started crowding around us saying, “No, no interviews! The Hottests leaders don’t want fans doing any interviews! Leave her alone!” The reporter argued back, “Well, what’s the big deal? She’s not part of your group anyways! She’s willing to do an interview, so let me conduct it!” They all kept telling me that I had to refuse the interview and even putting themselves between me and the reporter.

Since I had pretty much just gotten off the plane that day and I hadn’t had the time to read the news about the latest 2PM announcements, I wasn’t aware that Hottests were told not to talk to the media. I started getting nervous because I didn’t want to come off as a careless fan and in the end I told him sorry, but no interview. And when the other fans saw that he wasn’t going to interview me, a lot of them went away, but then the reporter started casually talking to me again, asking me why I was there. I started telling him about 2oneday and how there were 2PM fans from all over the world. The fans noticed us talking and got all defensive again and kind of yelled at him to leave me alone while he defended himself by saying that he was just asking me because he found it interesting that I was all the way from the States. I told him that I was there mainly because of the 2PM conference the following day and the other fans all of a sudden got super interested. After the reporter left, they stared at me like an animal at the zoo. I guess they were shocked that someone all the way from the States had flown to Korea for a meeting. When they asked me if I had sent in an application and I told them yes, they said, “Daebak!” and “That is so cool and amazing!” Some people asked me if I knew where it was, and I told them, no, since JYPE was sending the information by email that night.

While reading some of the notes, I noticed that one said, “Wating for Jay.” There were two girls next to me and so I told them, “This is missing an ‘I’” and they didn’t understand me at first and then when they did, they added the ‘i.’

Since I was super cold (remember, no sunlight ) I decided to hang out at the Dunkin Donuts for a little bit. There were a bunch of girls just sitting there staring at the building so I was wondering if they were waiting for something or someone and decided to chill there for a bit too. The place was tiny and there were no seats available, but I ordered a Hot Chocolate and stood around, just listening to the girls who were there. Most of them were talking about 2PM and it was interesting to listen to people talk about it like it was a normal conversation topic. In the States, I’ve only discussed this kind of stuff online with other 2oders. There were girls criticizing the other members, talking about how bad they felt for Jay, etc. I kept asking different girls if they were waiting for something, but they said no. One girl even said that she wasn’t even a 2PM fan, but a fan of a trainee, which was surprising. While waiting, I think I saw a few trainees go in and out. However, since I have no idea who JYPE trainees are, I had no interest in them.

After awhile I headed back to the building and took more pictures since the walls were now even more covered with Post-Its. In the front of the building, there were like 4 girls doing something and I kept hearing them talking about glue. I was confused but decided not to ask them what they were up to and just took some pictures in silence and left. I decided to back into the Dunkin Donuts since I was so cold. I bought myself a glazed donut and found a seat. I started writing more Post-Its.

While doing so, I noticed a man had arrived in the front of the building and he kept pressing the button to get buzzed in. However, after like 30 seconds of just pressing and it apparently not working, he got on his cell phone. I realized that the girls had put liquid glue on the doorbell so that you couldn’t press down the buttons. I heard other girls in the Dunkin Donuts talking how liquid glue is really easy to take off once it dries, so it’s not a big deal. Soon after he got buzzed in I decided to put up my Post-Its and went back to the building walls. At this point there were probably over 100 girls there. There were even MORE Post-Its and I even saw a girl spraypainting the back wall in red, “Are you ignoring the Leadja? Jinyoung-Gura Power!!! 쓔” I took more pictures and by then, there were bouquets of white chrysanthemums with 2PM’s first two albums on top. Also, by the end of the day, a graffiti sign that had originally said, “YOUR MOM WAS LOOKING FOR YOU” had turned into, “YOUR MOM WAS JAYLOOKING FOR YOU.”

Around 5:20pm, I was tired and cold and decided to take few last pictures of the building before leaving and stood by a convenience store that was across the street. Suddenly, I heard the beginning to a song that sounded very familiar and it was 2AM’s “Even If I Die, I Can’t Send You Away.” I thought it was just a radio, but it was actually the music video shown on a tv screen on the mart’s window! So I forgot about 2PM for a little bit and watched the music video in awe along with 2 other girls who were watching it with me.
